Hi there! Welcome to the open casting page for Amazon’s CRIMINAL – we’re so freaking excited to have this show shooting in Portland!

If you have talent representation in the Pacific Northwest, you really do NOT need to submit here. Your agent submitted you, I promise. If you haven’t been called, that’s a casting decision the could mean we can’t figure out where you fit in – or we’re saving you for a role that we’re not casting until later in the year.

ABOUT THE SHOW

CRIMINAL, based on the multi-Eisner Award winning graphic novel series, is an ongoing crime drama comprised of four-episode events, at the same time a high-octane thriller and intimate character study, where the reveals of the past will bring new weight to events we’ve already seen unfold. Our first event, “COWARD,” follows master thief Leo Patterson as he reluctantly signs on for a heist, he knows is bad news, and gets sucked back into a high-stakes world of crime and corruption. Our second event, “LAWLESS,” is the story of Tracy Lawless, an army vet who returns home after twenty years to do what no one else cares to – find his brother’s killer by infiltrating the late Ricky Lawless’ crew.

WHAT IS AN OPEN CASTING?

This is an opportunity for people who don’t have a talent agent to audition for the show! We’re especially looking to broaden the look of the show outside of the more generic actor looks you see on TV. If you’ve never seen anyone that looks remotely like you on TV, this is a way you can help fix that!

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME?

Nothing. Zero dollars. We don’t sell anything you can buy, we don’t charge you for anything.

WHAT’S THE PROCESS FOR AUDITIONING?

First of all – figure out if you even want to audition. Hopefully you do!

Second, figure out which character you’d be best suited for (descriptions and reference photo below.)

Third, click on the image of the character you’re interested in, sign up for an account and use the form to send us two photos and short video introducing yourself.
Do NOT post your video online. NO links from Vimeo, Facebook, YouTube or other similar platforms will be seen or accepted. Videos will only be viewed via our website

Fourth, get an email from us asking you to schedule an audition or send in audition video.

Fifth, wait and wait and hopefully at some point hear from us “You’re hired!” or possibly “Can we do a callback audition?”

A scrawny teen kid in glasses, he is a friend of Teen Ricky and Teen Leo, with a crush on Teen Jenny. He is seen playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends, he’s getting irritated by the escalating argument between Leo and Ricky and just wants to play the game…1 speech & 4 lines, 1 scene.

NOW CASTING: Big Boy Who: Man. 20s to 40s. White. Will be brother to BIGGER BOY, around the same age. A large man in a rural part of the state, Big Boy has an imposing stature that served him well for high school football. He’s still got some of that muscle, but a lot of it has gone to fat and a lot of the fat has gone to his gut. He leers at Greta and Leo from across the diner. He and his buddy make lewd comments to Greta and only leave when Leo offers them cash in exchange for peace…3 lines, 1 scene.
